God’s continued blessings of life and health be yours each day!
On this “preparation day” may we ready ourselves to welcome God’s day of rest, the Sabbath. This will be another great opportunity to fellowship and worship together our great God and Redeemer, who through His sacrifice and resurrection has guaranteed our salvation and “forever life!”
I wish to highlight two important events in our church this weekend.
1) Our Pathfinders and staff and some parents will be out camping at Malibu Creek State Park @ 1925 Las Virgenes Rd., Agoura Hills, CA 91302.
2) VIVO Sports on Saturday evening at McCambridge Gym: 1515 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank. Everyone is invited to the different sporting events. Thanks to Casey Villanueva for arranging this event.
This Sabbath (March 31), another wonderful worship experience awaits us. Let’s come early and receive of the “early manna” with our Filipino Service at 8:15am. What a blessing we receive when we come to church early on God’s holy day. Sabbath School follows at 9:15am with a panel leading out in the recap of our quarter’s lesson on Stewardship: Motives of the Heart. Please also take note that the next quarter’s lesson will be Preparation for the End Time. You will find this study beneficial as we make ourselves aware of the times in which we live.
I will be preaching this Sabbath on the topic: A Case Study, Part 1: Those Who Are Already in Heaven. Based on the Scriptures and the Spirit of Prophecy writings of EG White, we shall consider those human beings who are now in heaven. This message revolves around our month’s theme on character formation. It is important for us to know the characters formed that made these individuals enter heaven. I will preach on A Case Study, Part 2: Some Who Will Not Be in Heaven on April 14. We will consider “patterns of behavior and character traits” that prevent certain people from entering heaven. These are serious matters. I hope you will not miss these two presentations for your edification and personal preparation for heaven’s glory.
Upcoming events that I need to highlight: April 21 is AWESNA-sponsored Sabbath. We have Pastor John Aitken as our speaker. On April 28 we shall have guest artist and violinist Jaime Jorge for our worship service. Please help spread the word around and invite your friends.
Eyewitness News 7 filed this report:  Los Angeles police are asking for help in identifying a man suspected of raping a 13-year-old boy during an event at White Memorial Church of Seventh-day Adventists around 3:30pm on March 17, at an event held there. When the event ended, the child went into an upstairs bathroom.
A man then approached the child, punching him in the face and knocking him down to the ground. The suspect then dragged the child out of the restroom and tried to put him in a storage room. The child lost consciousness while the suspect was trying to rip the child’s shirt apart.
Around 5:30 p.m., the child was found unconscious in a secluded stairwell. He woke up and complained of pain in his rectum.
The suspect is described as a man with a bald or shaved head, beard and light colored eyes that may be green. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve yellow T-shirt, light blue jeans with designer tears and red Timberland boots with tan colored soles.
Let us in GFAC be always vigilant especially of strangers that come to our church. Be sure we supervise the minors in our church, esp. that they should not go to our bathrooms all by themselves.
Lastly, starting on the first Sabbath of April, our Sabbath afternoon program will feature an in-depth study of our 28 Fundamental Beliefs. We welcome you to a review of our church doctrines and be prepared to take a test!
May God bless and empower you through His Spirit to live victoriously and faithfully for Him.
